So I finished rebuilding and painting the fairey freewheeling hub, found this bit at the bottom of the bag as it was disassembled, does this go inside it? Looks just like a castle pinion nut

it secures the drive shaft,to the freewheel hub

Oh balls so it goes in the bottom of the freewheel hub?

it has to come to pieces to fit it

It has to be fitted when you fit the hub, you can't fit the hub assembled.
