Dear all.. I have the early D2 and I am planning on doing the facelift. I note from some previous comments on previous threads that There is some bodywork to be done to make the facelift headlights fit.... Is it not a straight swap?

If there is some mods to be done, can anyone please advise what I will actually need to do to make the new lights fit? I have an angle grinder waiting in anticipation!

I have searched google... but it only shows me previous threads!

Any help or pics would be appreciated!!!

Thanks,

thers a thread somewhere on here or a link? There'sa bit off cutting and replacing the small panel beneath lights.its a picture thread showing you in stages like a haynes manual

Don't get this thing of tryin to make somethin into somethin its not. Nothing wrong with the lights thats on it in my opinion. Break one..£30/40 for OM replacement. How much is it for a facelift headlight???

Agree with you on this was thinking about changing lights but thought only a short time before the change so the first disco 2's stand out more because of everyone changing to the face lift(just end uo one of many then)

personally. much prefer the look of the early d2 and d1.i think landrover have got caught up in making things look fashionable.

Yeah I suppose! I like the look of the new lights to be honest, plus the mounting housing for my nearside lamp has been broken. I have a sneaky feeling my wife may have driven into something.. Well that's my thinking anyway!

I do think that is a lot to spend though for the upgrade, but hey.. maybe I should do a little more thinking!

Thanks for the advice..
