The small black connector looks part of the original loom, I thought to the other one could be for spots but its much bigger than the feed to head lamp. I guess i could have an updated loom as my car is around the facelift 2001/2002 and there are connections for heated screen etc.

could the big one be for air con fans? it may be an original fitting ,the only reason i say is when i had my disco i found a black sqaure one in that area and it turned out to be for the alarm bonnet switch.

The "quite large with grey cap on it" one is an earth header.
There's one on each side, behind the headlamps. All the earths from the front lights, horns, washer pumps and levelling motors go back to that one point, where they are all joined together in the header and a larger single earth goes from the header, back to the earth stud on the inner wing.
The "small black square one" is possibly the connector for headlamp levelling.
Without knowing what wire colours are in it and/or a picture of the connector, it's not possible to say for certain.
