Sorted it. Filled gap with thick rubber hose, nice snug fit and black, waterproof silicone to seal fully. Looks good and after a weekend up on the wayfarer seems to of worked great.

Nicky, I dont suppose you took any pics of them while you were doing it? I have a set of arches waiting to go on mine but im nervous about cutting into the doors.

ya dont cut the doors just the arches

I did mine about two years ago with the intention to fill the gap somehow. Two years later its still open and not a problem although I don't go wading any deeper than 1"

On a 5door model u do cut the rear doors. Where abouts are u in Liverpool mate?

Hi,
I am looking at cutting my rear arches this weekend. Aready done the rear, now just need to the the leading edge of the arch, what with it being a 5 door, means cutting the rear doors.

Anyone got any tips for doing it, or just take small bits off at a time?

Use the old door seal that got cut off, I drilled a series of holes to suit the small black clips and just push them back in, ball ache do but works for me, and used fibre glass and resin to fix the sharp edges on the door..... What size them wheels on your disco in the picture??(disconicky)
