Hiya Guys,

First I must say great post on fitting diy breathers, I will be ordering a load soon! But first I need to finnish my snorkel, I have a k&n neatly fitted into a mushroom top, to shield from any rain mud ect, that was the easy bit but finding 3 inch straight pipe is prooving a nightmare, I have flexi but it wont look too neat.

I'm at my wits end trying to find 3 inch straight diameter drain pipe or anything that diameter for a home made snorkel.

Normal drain pipe comes in 2.5"/63mm or 4"/100mm, I really need 3 inch or 75/76mm. I can find some acrillic pipe but I think it may shatter, throwing shards into my precious turbo if it was to get squashed or damaged. Metal was another option but where can I buy lengths of that?? Any ideas??? I would really apreciate it.

The flexi hose fitted as standard is just the right size to fit over 2.5" rainwater fall pipe and on the 2.5 turbo the air intake bit just after the grille restricts it even more, so why not go for that?

i would go for 2.5 inch pipe although i have a 3inch snorkel mushroom top and a 3 inch inlet for the tdi turbo its all sealed and mounted quite neatly. I would love to have 3 inch all the way less restriction, easier and alot neater than 3 into 2.5 into 3. Ill try the pond shop next Jai

its reserectafred time.....

wot do peeps think of this as a breather manifold?

Woulod be better if they was 6mm. But what do yu need a manifold for anyway? all yu need is 3 Tee connectors linked together. gives yu 4 breather connections and an extended pipe to the top of the snorkel

like this?

I just like the idea of a proper fannymold.

Guys a plonker the Clutch housing & timing covers int breather holes they is drain holes to stop any oil leaks from building up and fouling the clutch or timing belt. Stick a breather pipe on em & they can then fill up with crap.
