Hi has anyone ever tried Epsom salts to restore a tired or dead Battery? ID be interested to know whether they have had any positive results? Or is this just plain stupid? Regards. Chris:D

Yep, tried it a long, long time ago. It only 'revives' a dying battery for a short period.
It's the basis of the ingredients in "Batt-aid" tablets. Only works in lead-acid batteries which have stoppers on each cell .... obviously.
It's supposed to work by reducing the amount of sulphation on the plates.
Ultimately the best way to repair the system is a new battery.

I don't think it will do much on modern Lead/Calcium batteries, if you battery is a sealed or semi sealed type I think you will be wasting your time.
