Hi guys I've just bought a 2004 vogue

Love the car but Allready having some issues??
Can anyone help

When I start her up nothing appears on the screen, it lights up but no picture? then two mins or so later the functions appears?
The SATNAV isn't in any of the functions available? Although the unit (mk3) is in the back nothing lights up etc, does this unit control the splash screen etc?

Alo the key fob has very worn buttons which don't seem to lock or unlock the car.the light on the fob works and locking the door with the key works?

Any advise is appreciated!
 
I don't want to break it to you, but from you recent posts you seem to have a lot of issues with this for such a new purchase, would I be right in thinking that you bought the car on looks hoping to fix the issues?

Cuz I think you might have made a booboo
It would cost you less to buy a fully functioning car and do the cosmetic upgrades than but a nice looking car with half the stuff not working.....

When I bought it everything was great apart from the SATNAV not working? I parked it for a day and the battery went dead after charging the battery, I'm left with so many issues? Unfortunatly it was a private sale and when I called the bloke for some advice he said sold as seen mate???? Typical
 
Yep typical. Ok not so bad then, could be a battery issue. If the batt is duff or on its way out, it can cause massive electrical issues. Get you batt checked out or replaced. Loads of unrelated warnings come up web it's fooked

I've just ordered a Bosch s5 020 (I think) which is the heaviest duty one I could find? Hopefully should sort a few things, after doing some searching on here I noticed that the little transmission light stays on aswell? Is this Due to me not locking the car? It's in a garage with the bonnet up (is it not going to sleep?)

FYI, sold as seen isn't legally binding in any capacity. He'd have to prove he told you about all of the faults you've encountered before you handed over any cash. ;)

I couldnt be bothered with all the hassle truthfully! As long as its reliable I won't mind but I've only done 40 miles so far? Gonna take to the dealer soon to get everything sorted as I don't really trust it yet???:eek: just really wanted to know what I'm in for before it goes in??

did you make sure the light was out on sat nav in boot before removing the battery ?try re-syncing the key to work remote locking
 
try this
wait for light on nav drive to go out in 1/4 panel in boot,remove fuse number 46 in glove box,wait for atleast 10 mins,re fit fuse this should reset the system

I haven't removed the battery yet, I've got in on a trickle charger, but no lights appear on the nav unit at all?
