Hello,

I'm just interested to know which particular diesel engine models are the most popular with people converting from N/A's and TD's, not including the Land Rover 200 and 300 TDi engines or the V8's.

So far I've got

Perkins but which models!?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd say the TD5 or TD6.
My mate swears by the Isuzu diesels and has two landies powered by the 2.8 and 3.0 litre engines. They go well, have plenty of torque, and are easily serviced.

Erm could do... You over this way at any point?

Plan is to clear out the HUGE amounts of ****e in the back or the LR tomorrow and ill see what i have left over.
I have at least one pipe, cos i can see it hanging out under the gap in the door :)

Thanks for all the suggestions, just looking for references about all engines listed! Cheers

All the non LR engines are gonna take hassle and/or expense to fit. Stop fannying about and get yerself a nice 200tdi. As it happens I'll have one for sale in a few weeks:cool:

POS, if it helps, the perkins engines are excellent tractor engines - i.e. they will pull at 40 miles an hour regardless of what you put on the back of your LR - pull your house along if you want, just they won't perform like you want - i.e. power for accelleration etc.

Perkins prima is a fairly popular conversion, better mpg, better power, all in all a pretty good engine and you can pick up an old motego for about £50! (on a good day for the seller!)
