Hi, I am wondering if I can fit a 2.7 V6 TDi into a P38?
Would I need to chage gearboxes??
The prob is the 4.6 V8 is blwing gaskets:(

What other alternatives are there?
 
BMW 2.5 from Omega or BMW. BMW 3.0 from BMW530 probably many others but the BMW 2.5 is an original fitment so all the bits should be available and it's ECU will talk to the BECM. Can be chipped up to 180 Bhp, loads of torque, economical etc
 
Other engines have been done (Corvette V8's, BMW 3.0, 3.5 diesels) but anything other than a 2.5 BMW is a royal pain in the ass unless you're a whizz kid at system integration
 
I forgot about the fabled BMW 5.0L V12 installation reportedly done by LR as a mule. I've seen spy shots in old mags. i think I remember the front being a bit longer tha standard.
Now that would be sweet and again 750 beemers are bound to be going cheap at this stage.
Anyone with any solid info on this or was it an L322 mule that was photo'd instead?

what does the LR version put out?? ive googled and got from 113 to 138 bhp????? if thats the case the omega should be just as good as a chipped lr version!!!

i'm calling in at a place just outside salford tomorrow!!! i'll shout and maybe you'll hear me john!!!

two different power outputs on the p83 2.5 t/diesel,first try by l/rover was crap second try was less crap.:doh::D
 
gav can you have a look see if they have a v8 4.0 iam being quoted £1200 second hand i can get a new one for that thanks j

In revue land rover there is a p38 with bmw 530,do you knowh who could do the electronics to adapt the loom of p38?
