Hi all new to this forum I need help I've just bought a range rover p38 diesel with a blown engine I have a 525 Tds engine to go in that's running do I have to change the injector pump to mate up to the ecu
yes, but only the top of the pump, iv'e just finished doing the same swap myself and it was a lot more involved than i thought, don't throw anything away as there are lots of bits and bobs that you will need from the rangy engine, even the bracket for the engine cover is different, hope it all works out for you.

Got it running today big job to do what you didn't tell me about is the settings on top of the pump or you were lucky very little movement but very critical to get spot on or it won't start
took me bloomin ages to work out why it wouldn't start when i did mine, only needs a tiny amount of movement on the top of the pump to change the idle speed, mines still a bit lumpy when its cold, but i'm going to let every thing settle down for a couple of weeks before i tweak it up, hows yours running?

I'm over the moon with it starts in a morning first turn of the key real nice motor I wouldn't wait a couple of weeks just move it a little and then try it
