hi sounds like a knocking niose from top of engine around 1000 to 1500 then smoothes out as revs pick up any ideas on what it is and any adjustment that can be done to cure this like adjusting tappet clearence or something. also
after filling up full tank of feul drives ok for 40 miles or so then starts to judder badly somtimes switch off engine wait 5 and restart then ok for another 40 then disapears for days or weeks new pump /feul regulater/fiter and housing any imput would be greatly appreciated cheers

sorted turns out to be injector washers 2 of them compleatly knackered 3 /within a mil of disaster engine runs smooth now and dosent send aereated feul back to the tank

I have quite a similar problem with mine. how did you change the washers ??

not a hard job to do jack up drivers side front wheel leave in 5 gear hand brake on remove cover then rocker cover disconect injector harnes remave rocker arm then one at a time remove bolt to the injector 1 bolt on a v shaped arm to hold in injector spin wheel with your hand to turn around cam lobe this is where you need a small pry bar or similar to remove injector 1 qiuck tug does the trick once out clean injector with wire brush fit new washer and oil seals replace injector tighten to 24flbs on torqwrench then on to next one when all 5 replaced and every thing connected spin wheel watching valve open close when push rod meets the end of its stroke check rockerclearence crack of nut and with a flat screwdriver screw down adjuster should only turn one turn or so then unscrew one compleate turn then nip up lock nut do the same for al five /not nessisary but best to check anyway once everthing back together and ready to start turn on ignision pos2 pump accelorater pedal 5 times this starts auto bleed once auto bleed finished start car do not touch pedal keep turning over until started may take 20 30 seconds to start just keep key turned .i am not a mechanic dont know my arse from elbow but with the help of this site and more any job can be made easy good luck

thanks I will let yous know how I get on. I ordered a set of copper washers and injector seals (the place recomended them to be replaced too) I will have them hopefully tomorow or monday, both genuine L/R for £25.00
