2002 td5 will start but when you rev it the management light comes on and the engine will stop ,but if you start and leave it ticking over it runs ok
Have changed the fuel filter and the injector seals.

air flow meter.check that or clean it.

As Gemsdad says it sounds like an air problem ... my BMW had this issue and it showed as a MAF problem. It ended up not being that in the end but it was down to the secondary air pump causing the perfectly good MAF to mis-behave!

Unplug the MAF it should still run ok, and be drivable, just a little sluggish
also check egr is working properly (if still fitted)

thottle pedal, it allows the engine to start but wont rev

if the lights on its prob best to read fault codes anyway
