its gems then!

the liners are around 80-100 per cylinder, top hat liners that is, plus you can get em ground to original bore, and you only need a set of rings to replace original rings. no need to do pistons. you will have to replace all seals and consumables like big end bearings tho!

There are a few more options which can be a bit cheaper than having the Thor engine, if you do a search for Gav's threads on head gaskets you will find alot of good information and what to look for when you are stripping it down.

Keep everyone here updated on how you are getting on and people will advise you if you get stuck on anything.

what he means is look at my posts describibing what a ferkin nightmare i had less than 6 months into ownership. glad i persevered tho!!!

wel if h/g trace is sooty in some areas then that could be the cause or if you can see coolant traces. if the liners are lower as said above.

take some good piccies ( post em here via photobucket or email em to me and i'll post em for ya) try to get good close ups of each cylinder, each bank and each head.

i'll keep an eye out, there are fellas with a lot more knowledge on here tho, i'm sure they will keep an eye on you!
