Surprised you can't get into the supermarkets, drop the trailer in the parking and then fill up with GPL. We see some big campers with cars on trailers that do just that. Can't get into most with the trailer, and no places near to unhook.
Got 12 local stations in 30 mile radius of Carpentras.

No 100 octane in France, 98 is the best. Supermarkets are generally 10 cents a litre cheaper than petrol stations and 20 to 30 cents a litre cheaper than motorway stations. Big difference over 2000 kilometres.I'll be crossing France next week - 1000kms each way, entirely on Petrol. Handy Shell app for locating their stations, 'cos she runs more efficiently on 100 octane (equivalent)

According to the pumps I've seen it complies with the EU standard of 98.Shell V Power is 100, at least it was last time I bought some - hence the Shell App
Even if I was running 98, I'd still be looking for BP over supermarkets. Yes, the per litre price is lower, but so are the kilometres per litre. It works out more expensive using the cheaper fuel.

I've never found any difference in MPG between French supermarket fuel and the expensive branded stuff.
Great post, followed you all the way . Makes me want to load up Discos n due some continental exploring.
Are you glad to be home or planning next trip ??![]()
