Hi all, had a quick scan/search but could not find detailed references.

Does anyone know if blanking off the EGR valve (as I have on mine) can effect the emissions with regard to the MOT emissions test ?

MOT due soon.

The anecdotal evidence is that the EGR mod improves emissions rather than degrades them.

No problem with mine for the last two MOT's, did notice increase after fitting Synergy though even on lowest setting.

When you say blanking off do you mean bypassing or removing vacuum pipe ?

Well I certainly have lower smoke-test readings since fitting the by-pass.

Just to get the terminology right - there is no 'emissions' test for a diesel - only the smoke test.

My mot guy commented on how low my smoke density test results were after fitting my egr bypass. Smoked a bit before but not anymore

First mot after getting the car , read opacity 0.71 , and the last mot with the egr bypass/synergy mod , which was left on , read opacity 0.64 and since then i have cleaned out the intake manifold , so should be better still this year !
