Today whilst driving on the road the Hill descent/ ABS overheating light came on (the orange land rover going down hill) not the green hill descent one, at the same time the reversing lights came on, and as it was raining and the front wipers were on the rear wiper started up on its own.
Even though it was switched off on the dash.
The reversing light and wiper I think are controlled from the reversing light switch on the gear box as the wiper is activated when you select reverse
But why the ABS Hill Descent lights up I know not?
Arriving home I selected reverse several times and the lights went out but came back on after driving for a short distance.
So any ideas anybody

The reverse light switch has a spring loaded plunger, this could be sticking in and making contact - worth taking it off and checking - spray the plunger with contact cleaner to expel any grime.

If the reverse light continues to come on at random then pull the wires for now as you don't want to be giving the driver behind you the fright of his life ;)

sounds as though you have some wiring that has been worn through to the wire itself and thus arching across with the water
