Hi all,

I want to install a couple of new 12V circuits in my P38 including a 12V outlet near the tailgate.

Is there an established place to take new or additional circuits without having to go directly to the battery? I would prefer them to be after the ignition switch.

depends on the amount of current you require ? if its only low power theres most likely plenty of places you can come off of that are switched with the ignition with an inline fuse and feed your 12v outlet.

In the o/s/ lamp access flat is the tow electric plug which has a perm live for the split charge it's 15amp rated

Think there are already cables in the loom for accessories such as fridges in the back.

Check RAVE accessory fitting guide, I'm sure i saw the directions for 2nd cigarette lighter type plug fitting into the sub-woofer housing.

when i wired up a 12v socket in the back of my p38 i used the 12v permenant supply for the caravan socket that powers the fridge etc

I ran a fused 4mm feed direct from the battery to the boot along the top of the chassis rail, dead easy, I added a relay switched from the caravan connector to control the the feed at the socket.
