Good Evening All

I hope someone may be able to help, before I take my 2002, 3.0 TDi HSE, L322 Range Rover to the woods and set fire to it!!!!

The problem I have is that different electrical things seem to stop and start working for no reason at all, apart from the problems seem to kick off after a long run, and then settle down again after a few days.

Issues are:

Indicators don't flash on lock or unlock.

Ignition switch lock gets stuck, and doesn't make the usual klunk when taking key in and out.

Steering wheel stops going in and out when taking key in and out of ignition.

Air con stops working.

Air suspension says inactive, but is still working.

Now this is really strange, but on some occasions pressing the door lock/unlock button on the dash will get rid of air suspension warning.

This is now really annoying, and I don't want to sell my car!

Can anyone help please???????????

Thanks

Andy

Evening & welcome..
Sounds like your BECM Is somewhat confused?, some of the experienced members should be able to advise you more... have you had the car long ?

Yep but in the L322, it's called the BCU or Body Control Unit.
It sounds like a classic case of battery and/or alternator problems too.

Thanks for that.

I've had a new battery, and it always holds at full charge, so I assume the alternator is ok. To be on the safe side does anyone know what the output to the battery on my car should be with the engine running?

I think I'll get the BCU checked as well.

Many thanks to everyone for your help.

Checked the battery connections, and found the earth lead to be loose. Clamped it up tighter and the problems seem to have gone away.

Fingers crossed that after the next long run they don't come back again.

Cheers
