On the buttons to the side of the speedo, under the button for my rear fog lights, the blanking button actually has wireing and a plug attached to the back of it. Any ideas where these wires go to and if that button can be used to turn on/off spot lights for example?

The aux lighting on the D2 is controlled via the BCU, and frankly its a crock of.... The relays for the lighting in the BCU are underspec'd and frequently fail - most of the D2s that you see with only one fog lamp working do not have faulty bulbs - its that damn BCU that is the problem.

The fog/spot switches aren't latching - they're momentary switches that send a signal to the BCU to activate the appropriate lamps.

Far better to fit latching switches and wire them up conventionally.
