Failing that Machine Mart sell replacement motor and the price is quite low.

YD i didn't get chance to get down there yesterday due to a rteally busy night at work and some landrover troubles of my own in the main, however i know there is an old compressor down there i am not sure if it is single phase or three but as long as there is no rush sit tight and i will definately get there tonight.

Yella,

your in luck mate, there was one down there, ive shoved a plug on it and it works fine, 2.2KW came of a compressor so should do you nicely.

Yours to collect. although if your really from
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch it would probably be cheaper to buy one.

I will take it home with me tonight any how .

I daresay I'll be goin' back up to Cumbria before too long - if you dunt mind waitin' ferrit Yella, and Desi dunt mind 'angin' onto it, I can probbly pick it up on me way up and meet you off the M6 somewhere.

If anyone neds three-phase electricity but only has a single phase supply, like for a car-ramp or compressor, remember that it is an easy job to MAKE three-phase from single-phase.

All you need is a three-phase motor sitting on the floor and a few capacitors wired in, and away you go.

Done several of these and they all work just fine.

I'm heading for Anglesey on the 3rd or 4th of June if anyone can get it up North. either within easy reach of Leeds or somewhere along the M62 / M56. I'll be more than happy to drop it off. And I promise not to nick the copper windings out of it.

The home-made rotary converter is cheap to make (get a 3-phase motor for nowt, and cpacitors are under a fiver each for three) and running costs would be the same as if you weren't using the converter.

Rotary converters are extremely efficient, and of course they only need to be running when required.

In happy to take it to j19 M1, M6/ A14 interchange area, if this helps at all.

that's still about 100 miles south of Leeds. Leeds to wales is straight across the country East to West. Need someone who's heading North who can pick it up from yours and meet up somewhere round Leeds or Manchester.

i know i am opening myself right up here but i have just noticed i am now a member......... rather than a junior member, how did that happen ?
