my 1997 range rover is fitted with the sandard manual ajustable seats and i am thinking of getting another interior for it as its a bit of a mess i have found an interior with electric seat and i just would like to ask if the plugs are there so the electric seats can be fitted any help i would be greatfull

This isn't meant nastily but you're new to Rangies aren't you?
Virtually nothing on a Rangie is that simple and the BECM is the heart of all complexity.
well i wouldnt say i am new to range rovers i have owned two of them in the last 3 and a half years but i am no good when i comes to understanding how the electronics work anything else i can solve. so what your trying to tell me is leave it as it is that is what i think iam going to do as it sounds difficult to put electric seats in.

No, but only because I'm a stubborn bugger and don't like to get beaten.
You need to talk to one of the BECM experts before you touch anything. RICKTHEPICK, & IRISHROVER spring to mind but there are others.
Unfortunalty the BeCM is not plug and play....it needs syncing tothe other ECUs...also it could alter the Odometer reading idf the donor BeCM is from a higher mileage vehicle.
Also there are amny settings that need to be transferred from your BeCM and the re-written to the donor BeCM....
I am not saying it is impossible, but you would need a full fat diagnostic device to set it up afterwards....
Not to mention you would also need the wiring loom, the Seat ECU(?) and the paitience of a Saint to sort out the niggles....
The P38 is a complex beast - there would be little point in making it more so, by introducing new issues....
It can be done - just need to realise the headaches it could cause.
