hi is it actualy worth getting an electric fan ?? does it really help anything as i cant see it doing anything atall ??

For D1 if u are in the north of the UK it might not worth cos no fan is needed where the temperature is not higher then (let's say) 20C... first of all remove the viscous fan and see the difference in ride and mpg....then if the gauge will rise higher than it used to fit an electric fan instead of it.

If your cooling system is in good condition (highly unlikely unless you've changed the rad recently) and you don't tow or off-road, then you can remove the fan and leave it in the boot.
No electric fan required and the engine will work better and give a bit more mpg.
How, you need to take on the responsibility of making sure that all in the cooling system is up to spec and you monitor header tank lever & the temp gauge carefully. If you are that sort then you'll be fine.
If you are the sort that never looks under the bonnet for one year to the next, don't mess with it.

i do look under the bonnet lol, ive build the whole car ground up, but just gona leave it as seems worth less to me as coolings actualy really good, plus engine has 20,000 on it since full rebuild so temps sweet as nut always, just wonderd about benifits as few friends have them

Benefits are the coolant is only given additional cooling when needed so you warm up faster and run slightly warmer considering the 200's tend to run cool anyway.
Some minimal reduction of drag on crank not having to constantly run a pointless (mostly) viscous unit

.....................and a viscous fan, whilst wading, can pick up a stick floating in the water and pierce your radiator!!!!!
