I put the blanking plate on and bolted the egr back up to it, at least then if mr mot tester looks to see if its there, it is, although not actually doing anything....
Stops the dirty oily exhaust gases clogging up the intercooler - On the face of it no it doesn't, as the feed from the EGR valve joins the intake tube AFTER the intercooler, not before.
Stops warm exhaust gases getting 'inhaled' by the engine, rather than cooler, higher O2 percentage fresh air.
Annoys the treehuggers.
What more could you want?
But I could be wrong - been wrong before and still married![]()
MOT man doesn't care if its connected or not as long as smoke readings are good thats all that counts.I put the blanking plate on and bolted the egr back up to it, at least then if mr mot tester looks to see if its there, it is, although not actually doing anything....
Only on part throttle as EGR is only used then, you may not notice it though. When i blanked mine the first thing i noticed was it almost completely stopped the shunting on low speed low load gear changes.does it give better performance
