Just fitted an egr removal kit from ebay £42 delivered.Easy job took twenty minutes and can feel the differance. Crisper responce and seems to want to go as it did have a lasy spot before. Well pleased.
While im in the mood for tarting about ive decided to waxoyl (clear) the insides of the doors any advice on where else i can get it into want to get it in the rear arches but cant see best approch.
Obviously chassis, but want to use the 5L of clear on the body work.

remove the senser on the intake manafold and give it a good clean withe some carb cleaner can help a bit more because the crud from the EGR valve cruds it up
as for the waxoil its a case of finding a hole and pumping it in if you carnt find a hole drill one the cills the rear body cross member the out riggers and the inner front wings are weak places on the 2 and 300 models and could be a problem on the td5 in years to come it may be a good ide to leave waxoiling untill dryer times as you can make things worse buy traping in water and can make you hard work a wast of time

Don't know if the Series 2 has the same problem as the Series 1, but the rear wheel arch has a built -in rust trap.
If you open the rear door and look at the top of the arch, that's one of the weak spots for rusting through. If you check in the wheel arch you'll find a design hole that goes up to this point and then carries on up inside the pillar. It fills with mud and then rots out. Great design !!

I cleaned this out and then loaded the area with waxoyl. You can open out the sill drain holes with a conecut and then use an extension spray to seal them. Same thing for the doors.

If you are going to waxoyl your car, then invest in a small compressor and a Schutz gun. Don't buy the cheap waxoyl pressure spray, it's useless.

Thanks for the advice will get on with that lot, but gonna wait till it warms up for the waxoyl its hard work this weather done two doors but it keeps going back to wax too quick had to heat it with blow lamp.

If you use a Schutz spray gun then the fluid holder is only 1 litre, you can keep this warm a lot easier than a large 5 Litre can.
I bought a spray unit and a couple of 1 Litre cans of underseal from MachineMart. I used the underseal on the high impact areas and then refilled the empty cans with Waxoyl, they are the ideal size for the gun.

Keep the large can in a bucket of hot water and thin the Waxoyl with a little white spirit.

Give it all a good shake and fill the 1 Litre cans as you need them.

Be very careful with the blowtorch !!

I kept mine fluid with one of the hot air paint strippers when I had to do some in cold weather. Still requires care though.

put lengths of masking tape the same length as a shutzs gun flexable probe all over the chassis, then peel them off as you inject the waxoil into the chassis holes. should help you track where you've been with yer waxy.
