Hello,
I've asked this on the Freelander section but after 24 hours and almost 100 views had no answers so I thought about asking some more mecanical minded.
a guy on a portuguese forum did something like this on his Rover 600 and recomended I would do it on my L-Series Freelander
has anyone ever done something like this

I feel like trying it out but I'm afraid of getting more trouble than improvement...

thanks in advance

220.000 km, not so responsive any more, loosing power going up long hills where it didn't used to drop speed, lower mpg

At that mileage I would check the compressions then send the pump and injectors for testing. The injectors have a rifling in the nozzle which fills with sulphur over time and is very difficult to clean out, that method in the vid won't work as there is a pump in your fuel tank.

I'm looking for a easy and cheap fix, even if it doesn't get 100% ok
the fuel line from the tank is connected to the return line so the diesel will be coming strait back in to the tank

give it a go matey, can't do any harm.:)

a member of another forum advised not to cause it could blow the injector pump, so I could use some feedback of someone who has done it

there is a system in the uk that does this type of cleaning.it is a bit bigger than that system you showed but it is a professional set up though.

Try a bottle of FORTE diesel cleaner first, best fual addative in the UK and loads better than any perol station ****e they sell...

try cata clean.that is brilliant.

took the exhaust line out last Xmas, downpipe, cat and main line all coal removed and cleaned
intake hoses and intercooler all cleaned last summer when EGR bypass fitted,
air filter 3 weeks old

only thing not touched is engine and turbo

it cleans all the fuel system, not just the cat.
