Well a new hissy fit!!
Came off the motorway,
the wading height light comes on,
The front goes up but not the back...
I pulled over, turned off the ignition completely only to hear the compressor running??
I had to unplug the compressor to stop it and sit and wait... Ten minutes later of turning on and off the ignition. The system settled down the height I wanted and the compressor ran as it should.
I then spent 2.5 hrs stuck in the Bordeaux traffic without any problems at all???.:confused:
The compressor not stopping with the ignition off is a worry, perhaps you should check the relay and fuse box for signs/smells of burning.
The hissy fit may well have recorded a fault "valve stuck open", I suspect you either have a dodgy height sensor, bad connection to a sensor or the height settings are incorrect.

Compressor not switching off when ignition is turned off can only be sticking relay 20, it cannot be anything else.

Thanks you two, my thoughts exactly.. but then the whole episode has gone with out any trace??? I've got some relays from a 1996 fuse box.. would you replace with old or just replace with new?

Hmmmm stupid question:oops:

there's a bit of pitting but nothing in the box that I can see to suggest any other issues not even a smell of plastic burning.

just found this in the older box in the abs slot! Never been used, but I'll check the bugger first of course.:D

Nicley done. The doner abs relay works and had never been used. It work as it should.
I think once the garage is empty over chriChris I'll pull her in and re-adjust the heights and go through all the plugs and connections to make sure there are no suspect areas.
Thanks again.;)
