Well here goes i`l put this into the forum as ive all but exhausted all others, ive been gradually encountering EAS problems in recent weeks ie suspension slow to respond to height inc from initial cold start and thought i would start with the compressor although there was no alarm showing on dash, also when suspension lock was used for jacking up to remove one of the road wheels this also didn`t register on dash so while i had the battery disconnected to reset the interior lights ( the efforts one has to go to to keep Rangy serviceable ) i took the liberty of checking the fuses for the EAS under the bonnet, both found to be ok but i don`t think i should have removed them as after battery reconnected EAS fault popped up on dash with proverbial 35 mph max and the car now sat on its bump stops, ok i thought ive got the lead with OBD11 TO RS232 + usb converter etc so nows the time to try it but to no avail, despite trying many different things including an upmarket USB converter (my nephew is well up on PC`s) he checked out that side of things right down cleaning the terminals in the OBD socket as ide read of corrosion problems which it did show slight signs of, anyway the problem we have is that on the TX side of screen it is churning out figures but on the RX side we aren`t receiving ant data back so hence i suspect we obviously can`t carry out a reset, i hope this is understandable to someone in the LandyZone com and can help us out before one goes bloody nuts with it, cheers Dave

Wrong com port on pc maybe ?

What OS are u using?.The usb convertors are often difficult to get to work and an upmarket one means little.
If you can try it on a serial port pc or your existing setup on another RR.
Did you make up the cable yourself?.If so double check the connections.

Along with KDS & JOHN I'd agree that getting the old EAS software to run on new computer kit can be a hurdle. If you've got (or can borrow) an old computer with a serial port you might have more success.

Then I think that you'll find that your compressor is (or now hopefully was) your problem. The system will go into fault mode if it requests something like a height change but it doesn't happen within a time limit. However you've then got to wonder what knackered your compressor and why your car ended up on the bump stops so I would think that you've got a leak and your compressor has been working extra hard to overcome it.

Is that a dedicated EAS cable? Go to the www.rswsolutions.com website and check out your cable with a meter. If you have TX but no RX it could be a duff or incorrect cable. Do do anything, you must get "Good Idle" in green.

If your airsprings are original thay will be leaking and that is what usually shags the compressor. The airsprings have a design life of 7/8 years 80K miles.

Hi Guys, thanks for your suggestions & sorry i havenr been back on the forum sooner but was suffering with Rangy flu (bad chest infection worsened by laying under car in the chuffing cold) anyway back to the problem in hand ive sent for a new lead but in the meantime i removed EAS relay from under bonnet to check it + rechecked the fuse only to find after refitting relay and turning on ign the dash 35mph alarm had cleared? and the comp is now running so ive fitted a warning light so i can check its operational runs and guess its tired as it took 12mins to pressurise system then its on and off like a yoyo trying to maintain pressure so ive deffo got a leak of sorts, the vehicle is staying at normal height overnight so have all but ruled out the airbags despite age, are any of the solenoids in EAS box a possible cause? or guess i`l have to get well first and start from receiver tank and work back to comp etc, thanks again for all comments.Dave

You must have a leak in the storage side of the system. With compressor off and not running, just after it has stopped remove exhaust filter, put your finger over outlet. If any air is coming out odds on your NRV1 is leaking. If none coming out check connections to Violet coded pipe in valve block and into tank.

Should have bought a tested lead from me

That would have eliminated one possible comms problem
