HELP!! Compressor recently stop producing air resulting in eas fault, max 35 mph showing on dash. Refurbed compressor and all working fine again but when put on diagnostics it clears the fault codes but they come back on and suspension wont lift. What can i look for now?

You may have a comms issue with the software. Which one are you using?

Might help if you told us what the fault codes are that will not clear, the international crystal ball is a bit fuzzy today

Echo the others - The error codes would be good.

Are you sure that the compressor actually stopped working? It def wont work when the car is registering an EAS fault so that may have been a red herring

Obviously the fault codes are top secret. does that Snapon kit work with the EAS?

the compressor was working just not producing air, the scraper ring had broken up. Was wondering if the valve block now needs doing too? Will list fault codes soon!

i will post the fault codes as soon as i get them off the owner of the modis! like i said, it said it was talking to the eas ok, and it did clear the codes but when we started the car to build the air up the codes came back. was wondering if the valve block needs a refurb?

If there are faults logged and you have the 35mph message, the compressor should not run. If the diagnostic comms are not working correctly, it's common to get a list of phantom faults that cannot be cleared.

The fault codes were:- F801, F804, F810, F840, F901, F920, F940, FB02, FC02, FC04, FC08, FC20. Hope this helps, sorry for the delay.

They mean nothing to me. You would need the diagnostic kit makers sheet to decipher them. You need someone with EASunlock or a Nanocom to read them for you.

When you get a long list of fault codes like that with the EAS software, it usually means that there is a comms problem with the diagnostics.

What's the protocol for using the EAS software? Is there a how-to guide anywhere? I'm hesitant to plug mine in since I have no faults and am a bit worried in case I screw something over. Am I just being paranoid?

You are being paranoid. Unless you try to change the heights you can't screw anything. You don't say which EAS software but presuming it's the RSW suite, start the laptop then open the EAS software, plug the cable into the OBD port on the car, turn the ignition key to position 2, the car should beep and display the 35mph message, no need to start the engine, start the EAS software, you should get good idle green, then you can read the faults, heights etc. When you have finished, stop the software, turn off the ignition, unplug the cable. Next time you turn on the ignition all should be normal.

If you go to the RSW site, think you may have to download EASunlock software to your computer. With it comes a printable instruction booklet.

I'm not sure which one I have, it's a CD based laptop one (not helpful I know, sorry). One hears of so many ECU EAS faults that I certainly wouldn't want to accidentally invoke one; hence my paranoia. That's cool then, I may do it at some point so I'm fluent before I need to do it.
