So today driving home Manchester to St Helens I managed to get within 3 miles from home and once again EAS Fault Max 35 came up

I have connected my laptop and tried to clear the fault and the car now rises and falls while the computer is connected but as soon as I disconnect the "Max 35" lights up again :-(

the ride height indicator isn't flashing and only 1 or 2 lights are on (std height & Wade height) and as long as I have the laptop plugging in I can drive without the car lowering? but as soon as I disconnect - Error code comes up and the suspension drops

then cleared error message and re read faults

This is what I get and still getting "Max 35" once laptop removed

I am thinking (and Datatek will correct me) you aren't getting good comms link as in the second picture, you cant have the samevalve both stuck open and stuck closed at the same time (FL).....

Also there is no Good Idle green box next to status.....

Try getting a good comms link, clear faults and try again.....

I am suspecting a dodgy Driver Pack, but until you get a good solid connection and some clear codes (i.e. not conflicting) we are only guessing!!

OK thanks

will switch back to my Mac tomorrow as I'm using a PC with Vista installed and I'm really not good with Windoze

will let you know how I get on

You have no connection to the EAS. As far as I'm aware no one has yet made the software run on a CrApple.
Most likely you have a problem with the USB to serial adaptor Vista drivers.
As far as the EAS is concerened, most likely it's a height sensor, assuming that the system is airtight and the compressor is OK.

I'm an Apple man and can get anything working on OSX ;-)

I hate Windoze :p

I can make sure the driver is correct for the Mac - I'll update you soon as I can tomorrow

Mine did that last week after the car threw a wobbly, re installed the driver for the usb to serial adaptor, worked fine

Thanks, I've moved location and I don't have my Mac with me so I have borrowed a PC with Vista and just downloaded some random driver to the the serial to USB cable.

see what happens tomorrow

So worlds worst drive to work EVER!!

M62 lorry broke down! another one had hit 2 cars and finally a car had a flat tyre and blocking lane 3!!!

took me nearly 2 hours to get to work (had to plug laptop in and clear the fault) car came up and stayed up - but the fault message is still displayed??

I eventually get to work and pull into a parking space, after trying everything to get in contact with the OH to warn her about M62 troubles! and Massive cloud of steam appears!!! the bottom hose (I know it's at the top of the rad) blew off!!!

arrrrgggghhhh not best start to the week :-(

and just spoken to OH she has just told me a woman has been knocked off her bike on the A580

:-( make you realise things could always be worse

**Update**

hose back where it should be, and topped up with water for now - spring clip can be opened up with just my finger and thumb so think I will replace witha jubilee clip when I get home and will add some antifreeze to replace what I have lost.

then I'll get computer hooked up and upload some screenshots

I go in and clear the faults - but as soon as I press stop the Max 35 comes back on the dash and all 4 of the hight lights are lit up

You have to shut down the the software and turn off the ignition in the correct order. The 35mph message is used to signal comms connection etc. Vehicle has moved means the height has changed and can be ignored.

Thanks, all seems well for now I'll be sure to be back on should something else pop up

See much better once I'm working on a Mac
