Why do you want to remove the kit? Is it to put something else there, the reason I ask is that one day you may sell the vehicle and the new owner may well want to restore the system to put it back to its original spec.
But if you want to fit, say, a tool kit, or maybe a box of spare parts, tow rope, perhaps even an emergency food supply..........

By the way, have you never heard of springs breaking? I've had two go on the X type, one impaled the tyre. In my nine years of ownership, my 38 has never let me down, guess that's down to maintenance. The springs I would put down to the poor road conditions in my area and the **** materials used by Jaguar.

I'd leave the box there in case anyone want to revert. Don't chuck the parts if you do though. Even if they're potentially knackered I'm sure someone on here will want a play.

The springs are being made with thinner section spring bar - it's to save weight and improve economy / reduce emissions.
All the manufacturers are doing it. Springs breaking is very common across all car makes now, bur Mercedes were the first ones I did regularly - back in the mid 1990's
Damaged tyres, anti rollbar links, brake hoses are all collateral damage when one goes.
