what sort of pressure should the compressor kick out, system run at? i am thinking about rigging up a pressure guage from the compressor to tank line to see if it is kicking out enough air. this is all part of my eas fault finding session.

i need to know max pressure that can be expected before i go any further

Assuming this is for your 2001 P38,not an L322 - then the pressure switch in the valve block will close at about 140 psi,shutting the compressor off.Putting a gauge in the tank line is a very good idea,many EAS faults are as a result of lack of air pressure - but other components get the blame.

hat is the best way an model to use ??

RAVE gives the compressor cut out pressure for the P38 as 138 to 152 psi. It restarts at 104 to 116 psi.

Totally agree and have been trying to get this point across for ages. But nobody seems to listen. Vital before trying to sort EAS is a good air pressure. Then you can find and stop any leaks, then you can progressivly work through the system.

I also think most people just dont want to spend the money on what should really be seen as service items - 100,000m and most of the EAS is on its last legs.

100,000 miles is a bit to far i would say from most i see 9 years 90k max usualy worn crcked leaking springs slow to rise worn comp sinking and erratic heights worn height sensors or worn valve seals

well i have taken the plunge, bought an in line push fit guage off ebay, so thats going to be fitted, also bought new set of front bags from island 4x4 as front drivers side was dropping overnight so well on the way to recovery i hope. i will see what the comp. is knocking out and then go for new/rebuild kit me thinks, its done 85k so will be at wear out age now going by the posts on here.
