hi guys, im after a set of disco 2 lights pre 2003 off the early td5 to fit to my 300 disco 1. does anyone know where i can get them cheap? cheapest ive found is simmonites £80 +vat. im weary of ebay as i know these are choice pickings for dirty tea leaves plus they aint that cheap on there anyways.

Front, back or both? D2 headlamps are on ebay much the same a D1s but with the black surround, who would nick those.. Pattern lamps from the usual LR parts suppliers ie. Paddocks

Paddocks were the cheapest I found when I had to replace one of mine -

RH - Headlamp RH - RHD - to 2A999999

LH - Headlamp LH - RHD - to 2A999999


They're made by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) - Magneti Marelli.

sorry should have mentioned front headlamps, i had heard that they are a little better than the 300 headlamps for visibility (and for looks in my opinion). it doesnt make sense to me either why ppl pinch em but just heard of a few instances..quick buck i suppose theres not much holding them in is there.

The theory is.... because at the back of the black surrond is silver layer any stray light at the edges of the lamp is thrown back to the reflector so the beam is more defined and brighter.

I'd still go down the ebay route as there a lot of peeps selling their old lamps after converting to face lift, who's to say anything you buy off ebay ain't knicked!
