gents, re timing chains I know duplex is a type of steel and very good for timing chains

but

is simplex a type of steel, and how good is it for timing chains compared with duplex and normal steel.

Many thanks :D

Duplex just means double and simplex means single, so duplex must be stronger using that rationale

Simplex is a French company known for their bicycle accoutrements.

Accoutrements is a French word. Bet you didn't think that a Septic would know that.

i dont know what exact steel used is but both the same if of the same quality ,one has one roller the other 2;)

see the thing is my bmw has got "duplex double row chains" so why would they say it twice if you get what I mean?

See if its got strength markings on it and match up to a working table like this

Its what we use from time to time but this is a chain one
