I am looking for a cheap landy ( sub £3000 ) and there seems to be a lot about. I need a 7 seater and will do about 5k per year and the odd trip abroad.. Any suggestions ? All advice ( expert or otherwise ! ) is gladly accepted. If anyone know of such a beast let me know I have owned RR's and 80's before and was actually looking for a landcruiser for its realiability but the size, price and parts put me off.. Thanks

there's no such thing as a cheap landy - they all cost money to keep going, it's just some cost more than others.
for that money, look for a 200TDi.
If you really want to transport 7 people regularly, then go for a 110CSW - you'll have to look hard to find a good one for sub 3k - it can be done though.
try autotrader or e-bay for starters - provided you know a enough to spot a lemon. Otherwise, look for local independent LR specialiats.

ffs trevor, he only want 7 seats, for that money you can get either or, personally i would go for a 300 with that sort of cash, even though the 200 is a stronger engine the 300 is more refined and a quieter ride.

yea but 7 peeps in a 90 need to be very small or very friendly!
200 don't have electronics - nuff said?

well don't drink as much radon then.
i knew a bloke that drank harpic..he wur clean round the bend aswell
