Hello, I am looking into fitting a leisure battery into my Rangie to run 12V appliances. This seems simple enough - split charger, isolator, row of lighter sockets - easy. What about having a similar system which would also crank the engine in the case of the main underbonnet battery having failed? By way of a switch (inside glovebox, say) which would substitute the power source, you are no longer stranded! Does anyone have experience of this? I have seen a T-Max (Australian, I think) system complete (battery extra) with everything you need plus instructions which, if it does everything it says on the box, would do this job. Under £70, seems reasonable.
Many thanks, Roy.
