The Hippo has developed a really annoying dry grating noise when going over a bump. It's only the drivers side and it is not so much of a knocking noise, but more a noise like something is grating against something else. It's difficult to describe.

I replaced the ARB drop links as they had a lot of play in the top joint. Whilst off I gave the roll bar a good wiggle, but could not detect any play in the bushings. But, unfortunately, that did not solve the issue.

Brake shield rubbing on disk?
It's funny you should say that as the sound is very much like thin metal grating over another surface. Is that a common issue as whilst typing this I am struggling to understand how that could only happen when going over a bump / pot hole?

Mine used to do it.
Worth a look.
If they're rotten pull them off, you don't need them ;)
On this occasion it was not the shields :-( Just wondering what to check next. As the noise is not a clunk and more like a loose joint I am not sure where to check next. If I stand on the driver side rail and really bounce the car I cannot get it to make the noise. It's only when you hit a pothole.

If you have changed the arb drop links, and they haven't immediately broken like some ones I've had the misfortune to fit, it cound be the arb mounting bushes in the centre of the arb.
