Hello. Can anyone help me with this. This has me stumped. I replaced my rear brakes shoes and all fine and left side drum back on and adjusted all ok but the right side rear one. When I put the drum back on it I can hardly move the wheel at all even the adjuster is fully unwounded. Is the drum warped ?? I even sanded the inner drum down etc To remove rust and dirt etc. I can't work out why the wheel sneeze up when I put the drum back on

Are the shoes correctly fitted?
Not checked up on these so maybe a bad reply, but in the past on previous drum brakes I had the same prob and found that I had fitted two leading shoes on one side and two trailing shoes in the other, when I took them out they were subtly different.
Not sure this is the case but they may at least have a right and wrong way up.

Erm good question. I believe it is fitted correctly. As one of the shoes has the pin attached for the spring to hold on to Could I be possible that the mancurfactor put the pin onto wrong shoe ?? I will take pic and put it on here and go from there

Have also had probs in the past with pattern parts, have cured by filing a chamfer on the end edges (not sides) of the shoes as found these werent quite right shape and fouled the drum.

Shoes are different and if you compare them the hole where the adjuster would fit is in a different place so its easy to put them on wrong if you are not careful.:)

Ah right so filing the ends to match the curve Ok and I will check again on the shoes directions. Trailing sit at the back the leading is in front or vice versa etc will have a look at weekend cheers
