new drop arm, new nut, new lock washer. and it still comes loose!! i tighten it every few weeks and always after off roading.

any ideas? i was thinking a second nut to lock it?

Mine was loose, look at splines if there is a lot of play-that will be the source of it

splines look to be in good condtion to me and new drop arm also. any other ideas? is there a good way of locking the nut? can i replace the splined shaft out of the steering box only, or does it need a whole new box?

monitor it and see how it goes, if it is persistent you could douse it in thread and bush lock. Normally they are buggers to get off-not fall off.

Will be seeing how mine goes as well

bush lock? is that like thread lock? or different?

Sold as thread and bush lock, think it goes off in bigger gaps better.

Had a nissan 2.3 diesel and it sealed water pump pipe in beautifully.
Also has been suggested before on range rover rear diff input splines

The lock washer has to lock to the drop arm as well as the nut. I've done 2 of them in thelast years and neither have come loose on or offroad.
Have you tightened the nut up to the daft torque that Land Rover require?

185Nm or something. yeah, done it up real tight!!

i think i'll pop another nut on to lock it as well as using bush lock. i'll do everything!!
