This is the next job so I would like to find the concensus on my diagnosis,
As far as I can remember this is how it is sussed, if the drone goes away on over run its a ball or straight roller bearing coming off load,
if it goes away on power on its either a taper bearing coming under load in the guts of the box or worn contact areas on the gears themself going quiet on load but it has been about 30 years since I rebuilt a box or diff of any description
