Ok,fitted some extreme bright(blue) bulbs today for dipped and main beem..they are the same(55w) but say 90% brighter, however they dont same any diff and also i have just noticed that there are criss cross lines infront of the car for about 4-5 feet.it looks like the glass lens patten being highlighted on the floor...however dont ever recall seeing it before with the old bulbs.my be its me but has anyone noticed this and if you have standard bulbs in do they do it??

mine don't and they look like candles, now with the "better" than standard zennon type bulbs i have found that they are very slightly better, remember the light is only a little bit better than yellow standard bulbs, now if you go for the real HID conversion, not cheap, you will notice a huge improvement in visibility. and put mine(standard) against your upgrade and yours will look blue/white, put yours against HID and you will be upset as they will appear yellow in comparison.

as for the stripes, if you have a brighter more direct light then its possible any defects or obstacles to the beam will result in a pattern bieng projected.

thanks for your quick reply. my light looks clean and standing infront of the car it realy blinds you (but driving it looks no brighter)...do you get the criss croos patten?

no criss cross, or at least not that i have noticed, is it possible to take the bulb out and see if its the bulb, look closly or turn it on if poss. not at same time tho or you'll hurt yr eyes. the reason it doesnt seem any brighter when driving is because they are really not that much brighter and still dont have a (much) greater power than standard

I remember seeing something somewhere that you can improve your headlamps by putting in a couple of exta relays and supplying power direct from the battery to the lamps thus increasing the efficiency of the lamps by reducing the voltage drop of the wiring loom, less resistance or something. I'm sure somebody out there can explain it better, but it could be worth a go.

I haven't done this yet but it seems straight forward enough, will be a project to do in the not too distant future.
