Hello gents:
do all p38 have play in the drivetrain?and if yes how much is tolerated before starting to rip parts off?

As above, but don`t ask how much "a lot" is !
Seems to me all the little bits can add up to quite a lot, but try to see how much is in each component: Easier said than done with gearbox/transferbox, and the morse chain in the transfer box can stretch a lot before failure. Axles/props are easier to check.
Sorry, not very helpful.

i know it is a vague question,so as long as it is driving keep on driving, untill something falls down on the road.hehe

I have had a bit of play in the drive train on my p38 and was concerned but decided to just keep on driving until it became obvious what the problem was that was over 50k miles ago and it is just the same so as has been said dont worry the p38 changes the way you look at motoring just keep going until something fails

lol hehehe.
guess it is a common problem, clunk clunk on bumps from props.i will try to slow down not to make heads turns on the street.
