i smashed my front diff the other day and had some horrible clunking noises coming from it. so, ive stripped down to try get my half shafts out to asses the situation and the result is that ive got the passengers side shaft out, the longer of the two, complete with cv joint attached no problem. but on the drivers side it seems to have broken at the cv joint and i carnt pull remaining part of the shaft out. now am i been stupid and they come in two parts or is it that ive bust it a good un and just need to get the remaining part out to fit a new un??? if this is the case any ideas how to get the remains out as im pulling it and it seems pretty well stuck??

one more thing should i replace anything new when reassembleing????
If it was me then ah'd replace all the seals and bearings cos ah wouldn't know when they were last done (if ever!). Ah'd also have a look at me top and bottom pins to see if there's any play in them.... but that's just me;) :D

int that when yu notice the diff oil seal is leaking, and doing that you notice the diff pan is thin and doing that you notice a lot of play in the UJ's and, and, and, :D
