97 P38, drivers door sensor isn't working so it never registers as open, is it part of the latch? easy fix?

Sorry - part of the latch.

if its part of the latch assembly, take the assembly out by removing the door card and open up the assembly, they have a tendancy to seize. inside there is a motor and some kind of sensor, looks like a smaller motor, spn em both, free them off and it should come to life. did this on mine and it solved the problem of the door not locking and unlocking.

its all working with regards to locking etc, just doesn't register the door as open on the display and the interior light doesn't come on, shall i still open up the latch and see if i can free it off?

fiddle with the plug first!! try it and if it still persists, open it up, be careful, but don't worry as its all straight forward!!

theres no real gremlins in there to jump out and fiddling with these assemblies usually results in complete recovery. also there is a door outstation, now i'm not 100% sure if this is connected to the latches etc but i think it is. if the fiddling doestn work try it on the passenger side, loose ofcourse(just plugged in to the multi plug and see if it works on there. if it does i would suggest the outstation!!
