I should have said I’ve got 2 lengths of channel from YRM. I was thinking of making my own channel but I’m glad I got the proper stuff now. I’m taking the skin off and hopefully it’s reusable.
I’ve finally got round to fixing my doors. Now I have it off I’m having my doubts, but I can weld and fabricate so going to have a go. View attachment 234102
The bottom channel is completely gone so it’s going to be a bit of work, so we’ll see.
Repair bottom channel on my drivers door got a replacement channel of flea bay aftermarket the suppliers name paid 5p shy of £60 good quality fabrication with about 4" of uprights butt welded on hinge location holes in situ prepainted , just a case of peeling outer side bk cutting out the rot and welding in
Just done this to a series 2 door...local machine shop bent repair piece for 11€ of which 10 was setting machine up...door skin has no corrosion bubbling through...going to paint steel frame which iv'e already rust converted and oxide primed with a roofing product we have here it's a rubberised paint in fact every join between steel and alloy on this resto is being treated the same way
