Right need to decide what to go for defender or series doors

pros cons?

dont want to make it look dated but quiet like the fact that i can take the door tops off in the summer, alot lights more room as i am 6ft 4. and alottt cheaper.

and where can i buy them splandrover? good quality

but defender doors are soo ££££££££££££££££ :/ be epic the one day can take the door tops lol hmmmmmmmmmm any pics of defenders with series doors

The series doors are a bit agricultural, mind you, I have been in tractors with nicer doors.

Unless you make up some sort of reasonable looking door card system and insulate it a bit they offer NO sound deadening either.

The first guys to see the first Defender style doors thought it was epic they could wind the windows down and have essentially exactly the same amount of fresh air without needing to take their doors apart!

How bad are your doors? My drivers side door was seriously rusted out, every time I closed it piles of rust used to hit the deck, I needed to cut out the whole base, lots of the mid section steel work and the piece which makes the lip for the seal had to be welded back in.

Cost me about £20 in steel, £20 to get it galvanised, £10 in seam sealer and £75 for a new aluminium door skin. I also did things like all new window channel runners and seals and hinges but you MIGHT get away with using the old ones.

Series doors are the dogs .......

You can put the tops on, close the window and essentially have the same amount of fresh air as taking the whole door off :D

hmmm indeed, might have a day with mine and see what i can do with the welder and some repair section before forking out ££££ since no one rates the series doors ha

Most can be repaired. And good defender doors are a fortune so worth a go. Although my last doors were a bargain :D
Personally I'd like a set of galv door frames and never have to worry again :)

my vote is series/military doors thats what I've got on both of mine and driving a standard defender with what seems like a HUGE door card leaves nowhere for my right leg :p

Ive got series door to go on mine. There lighter, look better and if you off road a lot then you won't rip the handles off when you scrape a tree or rock.

Series doors are definitely the way forward and if they are fitted correctly and in good nic with new seals they are perfectly good.....

I've got series doors on mine with military tops. Bugger all wrong with them, I prefer them to the heavy, complicated buggers that are the push button doors. Some sound deadening and jobs a fish

Oooo split decision any pics of the door tops and bottoms on a 90? the money is a big factor tbh

Looks the same as Steve posted on his yellow 110. Can't go outside just now mate as I'm dying of the flu but series doors are cheap, simple and a doddle to repair. The military door tops are much harder to come by and more expensive however, they have an extra sliding window.

Saying that I've got my old military bottoms that could do with repair, yours for 20 quid if you want them. They're not bad and I was just going to sell the scrap metal. Exact same as series ones

Series doors every time ;)

As the_wolf says, alloy door tops are even better and would still work out cheaper than a decent set of doors with those new-fangled windy windows.
