Hi all,
My 05 plate TD4 has suddenly decided to tell me a door is open all the time. Subsequently it bleeps when I lock it and the interior lights stay on all the time. I have read in previous posts it could a switch in the actuator? Any ideas please in simple terms. I have disconected the mechanism which does reset it for a while but the problem does return. If it is the actuator (whatever that may be) where is it? Many thanks in advance.

Is sounds like the boot door mechanism, is the window dropping normally when the door is opened and going back up when you close it?

Hi buddy, yes all is working exactly as it should excpet it thinks it's open! After saying that it does occasionaly decide to do something odd like rfeuse to go back up or go straight back up after going down for no reason but it always works in the end.

If the boot window works as normal then its probably OK but they are a very common fault so I wouldn't rule it out.
The other simple thing it could be is the bonnet switch.

Another use for WD40 Must have been dust in the micro switch.
