Morning all

So this is my first technical issue that is really driving me crazy.

I can open and close my doors with my remote. The actuators work fine.

When I am in the drivers seat and I lock the door using the internal latch... then the door will not open.I end up having to open the door by pulling a 'pin' up in the door housing using a coat hanger..... (attached)

I have been told to replace the whole lock mechanism. I have a spare door from a friend but I cannot get the lock out as the window guide which runs into the door is obstructing me from removing the lock mechanism.

Please can somebody help me. This is very frustrating and I have limited resources for help because of where I live. Thanks

You need get the window regulator out the way.
Here's the procedure.
Do you know how to remove the door card?

I have the door card off. I have removed every exterior screw that I can see. I have been told I need to remove the complete window frame and pull the lock out to the top
of the door?

Not sure how to remove the window frame.

Hang fire, I'll get you the write up for replacing the lock.
(window frame bolts are usually on both ends of the door frame

I have just got the lock mechanism out of the donor car door.

Questions:

are you getting these procedures from the RAVE manual? I have downloaded what I think is the copy. 12.7 mb ? does that sound right?

Can I service a lock mechanism at all ? grease? q20?

Can't be much wrong if the vehicle locks and unlocks ok with the fob.
The excepted way to carry out that function from inside the vehicle it so push down the door pin to lock and pull up to unlock, if you have use a coat hanger then what can I say, other than there's no need to remove the lock to repair that part of the door lock mechanism.

At the operating rods as shown in biggeeeee's post #5 and the one that rises up to the top which the plastic door pin is attached to.

When u do u will see how simples it is, as I sure u know. The actuator in the door controls the central locking, via the key or fob via the security ECU.
