Right so mW door lock barrels are stuffed. So I buy new ones on fleebay and when I fit the first one it's too short and sits way inside the door handle. It also seems not to work too well either. Has anyone experienced this before? Or am I doing something wrong?

Sounds like you haven't put the original end of the barrel on to the new barrel before slotting it back in the handle.

I did mate, you mean The little sleeve that the pin slides into and you screw on?

Then I can only think that the metal sleeve, inside the handle that the barrel slides in to, is broken. As far as I can remember there are no other bits.

What age are the doors on your landy? I bought a lock set from eBay but it turned out they are for earlier landys than mine. Most lock sets on ebay are for 1980 to about 2001. The later sets are longer and slightly wider and I had to buy from my local indy.

The brass pin had to be drilled out to remove it

If you get em from a stealer or indy the full set that includes the ignition barrel actually works out cheaper than just the door locks!!
