Hi guys, I do a lot of shooting and my door will chime whenever I open the door sometimes even with the key removed, this scares off the foxes! Is there anyway I can disable this without turning off the interior lights. I don't mind cutting wires etc as long as my lights still come on when door is opened. Apparently on an Australian forum I saw they cut a black wire by the ignition barrel. I don't have a black wire there, has anyone got a solution?

Yes there is and by cutting a single wire but I won't tell u as I like foxes :D

You could always look at the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual.

I unplugged the connector that connects the white and purple and the chime was still present. Surely cutting it wouldn't disable it as well?

Just looked an my diagram, your correct white/purple is the wire from the key-in switch to the multifunction where the buzzer is located, but at the switch one side is black the other is white, the switch is a replaceable part so there may be a plug & socket near by.
