Just bought my Disco and want to get a couple of the major uncertainties sorted. I have been quoted the following, just wonder if it sounds fair as does a cam belt change really take 8 hrs which is what the price is based on.

Front Cover oil seal GBP 5.06
Crank Shaft Oil seal GBP 11.47
Cam Belt Kit 101.25
'P' Gasket 3.72
Antifreeze 4 liters 15
Water pump Gasket 3.38

May Also require
Tensioner bearings, they seem to fail on a regular basis. GBP 10

Parts include carrage and vat as shown

Parts total 140.33

Labour
Cam Belt change 8 hours
P gasket in conjunction with Cam Belt additional 1 hour
Tappets 1/2 hour

Total 91/2 hours @ 27.50
Total GBP 261.25

Total

GBP 401.58

£50 p/h at Kentdale LR

£34 p/h at Gibsons where I'm getting the engine swap

So yeah thats dirt cheap

Ok, but does the whole job seem cheap? I mean, the guy may be a real perfectionist but is it really 9 1/2 hrs labour?

That sounds very expensive I am doing a disco 300tdi cam belt p gasket tensioner and idler pulley for £250 all in!!!

phone landrover and ask for the book time for a belt swap.

The price is OK, so it's a 4 hour job at £54 per hour!
